Experience Healing in Relationship

Some patterns cannot be fully understood through words alone.

Experiential Healing Groups use Pesso Boyden System Psychomotor (PBSP), a body-oriented, experiential approach to psychotherapy that helps people explore and transform attachment patterns, developmental trauma, and emotional experiences that continue to shape life today.

Rather than only talking about the past, PBSP creates opportunities for the nervous system to experience something different in the present, allowing new possibilities for connection, safety, and healing to emerge.

Many participants describe this work as reaching places that years of insight, self-reflection, or traditional talk therapy had not fully reached.

What Makes PBSP Groups Different?

Most group therapy focuses on discussion, emotional support, or learning new coping skills.

PBSP groups are different.

While conversation has an important place, the heart of this work is experiential. Through carefully facilitated exercises, participants have the opportunity to explore how early attachment experiences continue to influence relationships, emotions, beliefs, and nervous system responses.

The goal is not to relive the past.

It is to create new emotional experiences that help your mind and body integrate what may have been missing during important moments of development.
This work unfolds at a pace that honors your readiness, your boundaries, and your individual process.

Why Group Work Can Be So Powerful

Healing often happens in relationship.

Many of the patterns we carry were formed in relationship with others. Because of this, meaningful healing can also happen in relationship with others.

Within a carefully held therapeutic group, participants have opportunities to experience being seen, understood, supported, and emotionally met in new ways.

The group does not replace individual therapy.

Instead, it provides another setting where meaningful emotional experiences can occur, often accelerating insights and deepening lasting change.

I Generally Recommend Individual Therapy Alongside Group Work

Because PBSP can be emotionally meaningful and deeply personal, I generally recommend participating in these groups while also working with an individual therapist.

This allows you to continue integrating your experiences between sessions and provides ongoing support for your personal healing process.

If you are not currently working with a therapist, we can discuss whether group participation is appropriate for you during the consultation process.

Before You Begin

Before joining a group, every participant completes a consultation and screening process.

This gives us an opportunity to:

My goal is to create groups where participants feel emotionally safe, respected, and supported throughout the process.

Curious About PBSP?

Pesso Boyden System Psychomotor (PBSP) is a specialized body-oriented psychotherapy designed to help people heal attachment wounds and developmental trauma through corrective emotional experiences.

Although PBSP has been practiced internationally for decades, it remains relatively unknown in the United States. It gained wider recognition after being featured in “The Body Keeps the Score” by Dr. Bessel van der Kolk as one of the therapies that addresses trauma through the body’s capacity to heal.

As the only certified PBSP therapist on the West Coast, I am honored to offer this work to individuals seeking a deeper experiential path toward healing.
