DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?
No, I don't accept insurance. Many plans allow for out of network providers and will reimburse you. I provide receipts for that purpose.
Something to consider about health insurance... While health insurance can be important when you have medical issues and expenses, you may want to consider the long-term implications and risks of using your insurance for therapy because insurance companies require a mental disorder diagnosis. This becomes a part of your permanent medical record. Having a mental diagnosis on your record can hinder you from being able to obtain life insurance, disability, or health insurance in the future. In addition, your diagnosis and other personal health information are no longer totally confidential since the insurance company will be aware of your treatment and diagnosis.
DO YOU OFFER SLIDING SCALE RATES?
Yes, I do offer a sliding scale. I have a limited number of sliding scale spots available. Please contact me for more information.
WHAT IS A GOOD FAITH ESTIMATE?
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call (800) 985-3059.
